Day 4's Muffin Tin Snack: After school fresh and raw veggie snack.Red peppers, broccoli, carrot sticks, edamame and a smidgen of ranch.
That's a lot of veggies (although technically edamame is a bean and not a veg) and a lot of color! And like #3, I am pretty sure they won't touch the red peppers, but it's good to try!
Meal time with toddlers and preschoolers and beyond can sometimes be a stressful experience. Are my kids eating enough? Are they eating the right foods? Are they eating a balanced meal at every meal? They are the things that used to plague me.
Two pieces of wisdom from my pediatrician have stayed with me since my children were babies.
1) "There are 3 things that you are unlikely to control with your toddler or preschooler:
What goes in and what comes out." Essentially, mealtime and potty training can erupt into a battle of wills that would make even a heavyweight boxer cry tears of agony. Choose your battles wisely.
2) Look at your child's diet over a period of 1 week instead of meal by meal: What are they eating? What are they not? Little ones are picky from meal to meal and day to day - So, broadening your scope on their nutrition will cut down on mealtime stress.
3) It can sometimes take a child up to 10 times of introducing a new food before they decide they like it. So keep trying!"
